Today is something completely different I haven’t done before. I’ll be answering some questions I’ve had sent in over the last few weeks. They are all over the place, but I thought it would be a fun change of pace. I’m going to start with the fertility/faith related ones. In one of next post I’ll cover Mama and Lincoln related ones.
Q- When do I know it’s time to reach out to a fertility doctor?
A- This is not a question I can answer for you because this is all about personal preference and what you and your doctor feel is the next step. Most people say if it’s been at least a year if trying you should go. My biggest advice is lean in and listen. Let the Lord lead you and guide you every step of the way. Never forget he always has the final say.
Q- What meds were you on for IVF?
A- First thing I was on was birth control. My other main meds were menopur, lupron, and my trigger shot was ovidrel. I was also on progesterone injections until I was 10 weeks, and then 3 shots of rhogam during pregnancy because of my blood type.
Q- Where are all your leftover embryos being stored?
A- They are in heaven. We have no remaining embryos from our transfer. We transferred 2 beautiful grade A embryos. Both stuck at first, and then one didn’t make it. One snuggled in tight and stuck around and is now my handsome 3 year old little Linc.
Q- How do you deepen your faith in the times of uncertainty we are in?
A- Pray, press into the word, and worship are the main things. Keeping these at the forefront have helped me so much. Soak up all your family time. Also still press into community no matter what that looks like- FaceTime, vox, zoom, or in person. Don’t isolate yourself.
Q- Fear seems to creep in during this journey. How do you personally combat fear?
A- Pray, pray, pray. Remember you have a choice if you let the fear creep in or not and let you mind begin to spiral. Recognize it, get to the root of it, and command it to go. Guard your ear and eye gate. I have had to be mindful of the things I listen to and watch right now. I have tons of scriptures, podcasts, and sermons that I listen to on the subject. I’ll link a few here and if you would like more message me and I would be happy to share them with you.

A few others I love:
“Refuse to worry about tomorrow, but deal with each challenge that comes your way, one day at a time. Tomorrow will take care of itself.””
Matthew 6:34 TPT
“Protect me from harm; keep an eye on me like you would a child reflected in the twinkling of your eye. Yes, hide me within the shelter of your embrace, under your outstretched wings.”
Psalms 17:8 TPT
Q- What positive impacts did infertility have on your life?
A- The biggest positive thing to come out of it is community. The people I have met are warriors and so inspiring. Also here’s a blog post I did talking about this specific thing- https://whileinwaiting.com/2019/04/18/changed-for-good/
Q- Are you going to the Moms in the Making conference?
A- YES!!! I wouldn’t miss it. I’ll say this every year, but it’s such a powerful and impactful weekend. You won’t regret going. If you are on the fence or want more info I would love to chat with you more about it!
